North West Hospitals hit again with high number of patients on trolleys



Letterkenny University Hospital is the 3rd worst affect hospital in the country today when it comes to the number of people awaiting a bed.

46 patients are being forced to wait in Letterkenny with Sligo University Hospital also experiencing high waiting numbers with 35.

The statistics come from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s Trolley Watch Figures which take a survey every morning in Irish Hospitals.

Patients waiting on a trolley or chairs has seen a large increase over the last number of months with 595 people being forced to wait today nationally.

Elsewhere in the country, University Hospital Galway is the worst affected where 71 people are waiting.
