The Irish Heart Foundation are to hold an information evening on heart failure.
The free event is part of their ‘Don’t Ignore The Signs of Heart Failure’ campaign and is aimed at those affected by heart failure, their carers and anyone who is concerned about the condition.
It’s taking place on Wednesday next from 6.30pm in the Sligo park Hotel with those interested in attending asked to register at knowyourheart.ie.
Latest figures from the HSE show over 90,000 people suffer from the condition in Ireland.
A number of specialists will be speaking on the day such as Dr. Donal Murray, Consultant Cardiologist at Sligo University Hospital.
Martina Greene is coordinator of the Sligo Heart Failure Support Group and tells Ocean FM News that the word ‘failure; can be scary for people, but says people can still live a regular life.
