Donegal Gardai are warning of a scam phone call today.
There are reports of calls to mobiles from a number beginning with 00578, claiming the person has overpaid on their Visa account.
The person will then attempt to get bank details, date of birth and more so they can ‘rectify’ the problem.
Gardai say this is a scam and people should never give those type of details over the phone further reminding people that companies and banks will never call looking for such information.
The best solution is to immediately hang up and not engage with the scammers.
