Geevagh are Sligo intermediate champions

Geevagh produced a commanding display at Markievicz Park on Sunday to lift the Kennedy’s intermediate football championship title for 2019 after a 2-16 to 3-5 win against Bunninadden.

John Hughe’s side conceeded two goals in the first half but soon repaired the damage to lead by one at the interval.

They took control of the second-half, restricting Bunninadden to just three second-half points and a late consolation goal.

The win means Geevagh return to senior championship football in 2020 – and they will also be Sligo’s representatives in the Connacht club intermediate football championship.
