West Sligo councillor calling for €45,000 to upgrade public toilets at Enniscrone beach

A West Sligo councillor is calling for €45,000 to be allocated for the upgrade of public toilets at what is one of the most popular beach areas in the North West.

Independent Councillor Joe Queenan told this week’s meeting of councillors from the Ballymote/Tubbercurry/West Sligo area that there were two issues with the toilets at Enniscrone beach.

One was the standard of the toilets and the second was the length of time they are closed in the year.

He said it was important that whenever the toilets are upgraded that a system is put in place for properly maintaining and closing them every night.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Queenan says it’s important that work is done on the toilets because of the popularity of Enniscrone throughout the year.
