A local councillor is urging motorists of delays in and amongst Sligo town up until next week.
As part of the N4-N15 Sligo Urban Improvement Scheme, Traffic Islands are scheduled to be removed on the Rosses Point Road (R291) and Duck Street (N16) this morning and is expected to be completed by Tuesday, 29th October. Lane closures will be in place between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
There will also be a Stop and Go shuttle system in place on the Rosses Point Road (R291) and N15 Junction which will continue for the rest of this week and into next. Traffic management will be in operation and Sligo County Council urges delays are anticipated and regrets any convinced caused.
Independent Sligo Councillor, Marie Casserly expresses that delays shouldn’t be expected during peak times;
Meanwhile, Market Street will be closed at its junction with Castle Street from 7 pm-11 pm tonight due to emergency roadworks.
Diversions will be in place via West Gardens and Harmony Hill. HGV’s should take alternative routes and Sligo County Council regrets any inconvenience caused.
