A local TD has welcomed a Government proposal that brings fairness amongst the many self-employed people in the North West.
Fianna Fail TD for Sligo Leitrim Eamon Scanlon claims the introduction of Jobseekers Benefit for the Self Employed has been welcomed by people who now feel secure should their business come to an end.
Secured by Fianna Fail under the confidence and supply agreement, support has now been introduced for entrepreneurs and the 250,000 small and medium sized businesses operating across the country.
Succeeded by Dental and Optical benefits, Deputy Scanlon claims this will eliminate systematic discrimination against the self-employed:
