Rescue services in the north west were called to action on multiple occasions this weekend.

On Saturday, Killybegs Coast Guard came to the assistance of an American tourist on Saturday evening along the ‘Pilgrims Path’ area on Slieve League Mountain.

While Killybegs Coastguard along with Bundoran RNLI and Sligo based Rescue 118 Helicopter helped 8 divers who got into difficulty around Bullockmore, just west of St. John’s Point.

The call was received at 12.55pm after the divers noticed a problem with their boat.

4 divers were taken on the Bundoran lifeboat, 2 with Killybegs and 2 with a passing fishing boat that responded to the Coast Guards initial call for help.

The Coast Guard encourage all heading out on boats to contact check in with them before setting out.
