Renewed calls for progress on Gaelscoil na gCeithre Mhaistri building in Donegal Town

Proposals for a long-awaited new school building for Gaelscoil na gCeithre Mhaistri in Donegal Town need to be sped up so that it can go to detailed design stage and planning permission sought.

The Department of Education is currently reviewing a submission from the team working on a design for the new school.

But Donegal Fianna Fail Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher says it needs to go as quickly as possible to the next stage, which includes application for planning permission, certificates for fire and disability access, and preparation of tender documents.

He says it’s not fair that students began and may finish their time at the college in prefabs.
