Slight increase to Uduras na Gaeltachta budget not enough according to Donegal TD

The slight increase to Udaras na Gaeltachta funding is not enough, according to a Donegal TD.

Fianna Fail Deputy and Leas Cheann Comhairle, Pat ‘The Cope’ Gallagher says that the department does similar work in Gaeltacht areas as the IDA and Enterprise Ireland for less funding.

Funding for Udaras na Gaeltachta in budget 2020 will be €20.3m, however, in 2009 this was €39.4m while staff levels have also been reduced, going from 156 in 2008 to 88 currently.

Deputy Gallagher says the department have a difficult task ahead of them attracting investors with their current budget.
