It’s been a feature of Ballyshannon since way back in 1878, and the iconic clock in the town is set to be back up and ticking in a matter of weeks.
The clock face and structure at the top of the old AIB Bank building in the town was struck by lightning four years ago and hasn’t been properly replaced, which has led to disappointment among locals and tourists alike.
Now the new owner of the building, Eamonn McNulty, says the new clock is almost ready to be installed.
However, he’s criticised Donegal County Council for their lack of interest in the building. He claims he has offered the Council free use of the building for the next 20 years, but they haven’t responded to him.
