In a statement to Ocean FM this evening Deputy Tony McLoughlin he will be meeting with the Taoiseach next week to discuss running in the Sligo/Leitrim, South Donegal/ North Roscommon constituency.
Deputy McLoughlin outlined how his decision to retire from politics remains the same as it did when he announced his intentions 15 months ago.
He went on to add that following the decision of Cllr. Maguire to withdraw from the General Election ticket, there has been discussions on the issue over the last number of weeks.
The Sitting TD concluded that as a result, the Taoiseach has requested a meeting with him in Dublin next week in order to discuss this issue further.
