Green Party not anti-rural Ireland – Ryan defends village car pooling proposal

Green Party leader, Eamon Ryan, has moved to clarify comments he made about rural villages engaging in a car pooling scheme as part of the fight against climate change. Deputy Ryan has suggested that rural villages with a population of 300 families should consider availing of the use of 30 cars per village for public transport purposes – he insists this is happening in other countries, and his proposal is not anti-rural Ireland
