Love Leitrim Blasted Government on Shannon Estuary Fracking

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Environmental Minister Richard Bruton are being criticised for signing off on a proposal to develop a gas terminal in the Shannon estuary.

The Love Leitrim group have blasted the government after it was revealed that project was included on the draft Projects of Common Interest list – which would mean it would be fast tracked for planning.

The final decision on whether or not the project is believed to have been taken on Friday last and news of which is only now emerging.

Jamie Murphy is the Chairperson of the Love Leitrim group he says the decision was made without proper consultation and is not one which the people of the country wanted.
