Knee injury ends Parkes season

Sligo Rovers have confirmed that Romeo Parkes season is over after he damaged knee ligaments during last Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Dundalk in the FAI Cup semi-final.

Parkes, who is Rovers leading scorer this season, was stretchered from the pitch after just 10 minutes of the cup tie.

The Jamaican has scored 14 goals this season – but will miss Rovers four remaining league games this season. The recovery time from the injury is expected to take two months.
