Farmers need to consider beef agreement

A plan is on the table to keep Irish beef on shop shelves.

But the deal, hammered out during weekend talks, depends on the pickets being lifted at meat plants around the country.

The agreement outlines an extension of age limits on cattle, the introduction of a beef task force and increases to bonuses.

Leitrim Beef Plan Movement Chairman, Brendan Barry, says it’s important that all farmers carefully consider the details of the agreement.
