McConalogue urges Minister Creed to intervene in Knackeries Dispute

The Minster for Agriculture needs to intervene in the nationwide strike by Knackeries in order to prevent a major risk to public health.

That’s according to the Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Agriculture, Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue.

Deputy McConalogue has called on the Minister to urgently meet with representatives of the Animal Collectors Association (ACA).

A little under 40 of the country’s Knackeries have been on an indefinite strike since Tuesday including the Maloney and Matthews facility in Tubbercurry.

Deputy McConalogue says The Minister cannot allow this strike to go on for much longer, otherwise we risk serious public health issues.
