Welcome for CLAR funding . . . even though it’s down in some counties



Almost €760,000 in CLAR funding has been allocated for safety measures and play areas in rural areas of DOnegal, Sligo and Leitrim.

Sligo schools and community groups are to get €280,000.

The benificiaries include Enniscrone Community Public Playground; Knockminna, Killavil and Mullaghroe national schools, Stokane Community Park, Nace O Dowd Park in Achonry, Ballygawley/Sooey Defibrillator Group, the Order of Malta in Sligo and Sligo Mountain Rescue.

Leitrim is to get €279,664 with allocations going to McDermott Terrace Residents Association in Manorhamilton for footpaths and Drumkeeran Sports and Leisure for upgrade of a car park.

Donegal is to receive €200,000.

However, Independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice says all is not when it seems when it comes to CLAR funding allocations:
