Bus Eireann apologies after door falls on Sligo to Galway route

Bus Eireann has apologised to customers after a door fell from one of its buses on the Sligo to Galway route yesterday.

The incident happened on the 10am Route 64 service just outside Charlestown, Co. Mayo yesterday morning.

Bus Eireann says a mechanical fault was to blame for the door falling down onto a grass verge.

A spokesperson says the driver followed all safety procedures and a replacement bus was dispatched.

It is understood passengers continued their journey to Galway with a short delay and no passengers were injured.
