Donegal Vitamin D deficiency — balanced diet also important



A balanced diet and no more than 15 minutes of unprotected sun exposure a day is enough to maintain a healthy level of Vitamin D.

That’s according to the Irish Cancer Society, which says it is alarming to see high levels of Vitamin D insufficiency in Donegal.

A recent study carried out in Letterkenny University Lab found out of 10,000 tests, 75 per cent of people had insufficient levels of the vitamin, while 12 per cent had extremely low levels.
