Trolley waiting figures continue to rise in Sligo University Hospital



The number of patients being forced to wait for a bed in Sligo University Hospital has been steadily rising.

On Monday and Tuesday, the Hospital had the 4th highest waiting times in the country with 31 and 34 respectively.

Today, that figure is 40 which makes Sligo the 3rd worst nationally, only Cork University Hospital with 42 and a further 54 people waiting at University Hospital Limerick are higher.

Letterkenny University Hospital also sees 14 patients on trolleys today.

The figures, which come from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that there are 495 total patients waiting for a bed around the country.
