North West Hospice fundraising — Lough Gill swim, tea morning coming up

€33,000 was raised for the North West Hospice on Sunflowers Days.

The national event has been taking place annually for the past 29 years — it took place on the 7th and 8th of June this year.

The hospice service provides palliative care for a population of around 110,000 people in the Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan areas, with it costing over €2m annually.

A grant of €1 million is supplied by the HSE while the rest must be raised through fundraising efforts.

Laura Comiskey, of the North West Hospice, says all fundraisers are vital to help keep the services running, like the upcoming Tea Morning on the 19th of September.

Laura also has information for people interested in volunteering:

And the Annual Lough Gill Swim in aid of North West Hospice takes place on Saturday 17th August 2019 at Doorly Park, in Sligo.
