Speed levels on the Ballisodare to Union Road in Co Sligo are being described as ‘out of control’.
Residents in the area say they are not only concerned for their own safety when accessing their homes from the road, but also for the safety of walkers and cyclists using the route.
It’s understood there has also been numerous traffic collisions at the bridge in Ballisodare because of the width of the bridge and the speed at which motorists are approaching it.
Ballygawley Cllr Thomas Walsh says a safety strategy needs to be put in place for the area.
