Kilcar have won the Brian McCormick Sports & Leisure senior football league Division 1 title in Donegal with three games spare, after a 2-18 to 0-10 win against Cloughaneely in Towney (pictured) on Sunday evening.
Barry Doherty’s side, who are unbeaten so far this season in Division 1, are assured of the Democrat Cup after this win – combined with second-placed Naomh Conaill’s loss to St Eunan’s – ensured they not be caught with three league games to go.
Kilcar sit on 29 points have drawn won 14 and drawn just one of their 15 league games to date. They are seven points clear of Naomh Conaill, and so can’t be caught. View the Division 1 standings here.
It’s the club’s 14th division 1 title – and their fourth in the last six years.
