Sligo beaten by Louth in All-Ireland under 16 final

There was no joy for Sligo girls under 16 footballers in Wednesday evening’s All-Ireland under 16 ‘C’ championship final in Mullahoran when they were well beaten by Louth on a final scoreline of 6-18 to 3-12.

The Sligo girls battled hard but were always under pressure by an impressive Louth attack and trailed by 3-8 to 1-5.

The wee county made a strong start to the game and had scored 2-6 inside the opening 10 minutes.

Louth would add three second-half goals to ensure they lifted the All-Ireland title for 2019.
