A Sligo Leitrim TD has welcomed the progression of the Coroners amendment which was passed recently in the Dáil.
The Bill has passed all stages in both the Dáil and the Seanad and is expected to be signed into law by the President shortly.
The new bill will introduce changes including strengthening the powers of investigation and reporting held by Coroners when it comes to maternal deaths and prenatal and infant deaths.
Sligo Leitrim TD Eamon Scanlon has been proactive on the issue over a period of time and has welcomed the news adding that it’s important that Corners have more power to conduct thorough investigations.
