Now the time for Irish Politicians to unite on Brexit

Following the appointment of Boris Johnson as the new British Prime Minister, Irish politicians need to be united and resolved in the face of challenges that will present in the Brexit process over the coming weeks and months.

That’s according to the Midlands North West MEP, Matt Carthy.

Mr Carty has called on the Irish Government and the EU negotiators not to yield any ground on the backstop.

He has also warned that any hardening of the border in Ireland would be disastrous for the country and particularly for the north west region.
