Adequate resources required for St Cecilia’s

Calls have been made on the Department of Education and Health to ensure that adequate resources are provided for St Cecilia’s school in Sligo.

The calls were made recently in the Dáil by Sligo Leitrim Fianna Fáil TD Eamon Scanlon.

The School which caters for students with special needs has a number of students waiting on speech and language therapy appointments and assessments.

As a result families of the students are concerned that if the assessments are not provided the symptoms of their conditions will increase.

In raising the matter in the Dáil, Deputy Scanlon say’s it’s vital that speech therapists and residential care is provided at the school.
