Gardaí in the north west have received reports of a scam text message claiming to be from Revenue making the rounds.
The details from the sender are displayed as ‘REVENUE’ and says the recipient is eligible for a refund.
A link to a website is sent that when clicked, has a very well made website that appears to look like the genuine revenue site.
People are then asked to enter their name, date of birth, and bank details.
Gardaí advise people to never click on the link or enter any details, and to ring revenue directly if they have concerns over the legitamcy of any message claiming to be from them.
