IT Sligo student and Wexford senior goalkeeper Mark Fanning struck the vital penalty in Sunday’s Leinster hurling final at Croke Park which gave Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford a dramatic 1-23 to 0-23 win against Kilkenny.
It’s Wexford first Leinster senior title since 2004.
Fanning struck the 64th penalty low past his opposite number in the Kilkenny goal for what would prove to be the game’s decisive score.
Mark is currently studying for a BA Honours (Apprenticeship) degree in Insurance Practice with IT Sligo.
