A new report says the future of farming in Connaught is uncertain as low farm profitability is leaving many farmers questioning their future.
The findings have been publish in a report by IFAC – the farming, food and agribusiness professional services firm.
Key findings showed 48% of all Connaught farmers surveyed do not have a clear succession plan in place.
The report also states 50% of Connaught farmers say their business is not viable enough to encourage the next generation to take it on.
Head of Agri Support with IFAC Accountants Philip O Connor outlines some of the reports findings.
