Fermanagh knock Donegal out of Ulster U20 championship

Fermanagh’s under 20 gaelic footballers have knocked Donegal out of this year’s Ulster championship after a 0-14 to 0-12 win in Friday evening’s quarter-final at Brewster Park in Enniskillen.

Fermanagh led by 0-7 to 0-6 at half-time and were three points ahead (0-12 to 0-9) as the contest moved into the final 10 minutes.

However, Gary McDaid’s side rallied to bring the match level at 0-12 each as the game moved into added time. But Fermanagh’s Frank McGovern landed the two scores that mattered during those five minutes to deservedly knock Donegal out of the Ulster U20 championship.

Fermanagh manager Ollie Fay felt his side were always capable of catching Donegal in this quarter-final:

Fermanagh will play Derry in the Ulster U20 semi-final. The oak leaf county beat Armagh by 5-12 to 2-13 in the night’s other quarter-final.
