General Election – a distinct possibility

A  general election in the Autumn of this year is a possibility.

That’s according to Sligo Leitrim Finanna Fail TD Marc MacSharry.

Speculation has increased on an election being called following comments by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. There is also a school of thought that the Government could also take the step to go to the Country for a general election in preference to fighting it out in a number of bye elections which traditionally prove to be difficult for the government of the day.

Speaking earlier to Ocean FM news, Deputy MacSharry says the speculation is being fuelled by comments from senior Fine Gael members.
