A Sligo local election candidate says the condition of a derelict 75-apartment building in Ballisodare is an issue that is constantly arising as he canvasses in the area.
Thomas Walsh says not enough has been done to deal with the Old Mill complex on the bank of the Owenmore River that he has described as ‘an appalling legacy from the Celtic Tiger days.’
He says it’s not good enough that, on the one hand, volunteers are working to make their community better while the State and politicians allows this eyesore to remain.
