Coughlan’s late penalty earns Sligo Rovers draw with Finn Harps

A Ronan Coughlan penalty in added time rescued a point for Sligo Rovers in Friday night’s SSE Aitricity League Premier Division game against Finn Harps in a 1-1 draw at the Showgrounds.

Sean Boyd’s 42 minute header had given Harps a deserved lead.

Romeo Parkes had a goal disallowed for offside early in the second-half.

Harps produced a gutsy display for much of the game – but as the contest ticked into injury-time, Coughlan was up-ended by Danny O’Reilly in the penalty area, which resulted in the defender receiving a second yellow card.

Coughlan picked himself up to convert the spot-kick and secure a point for the home side.
