A Donegal election candidate is calling for tighter regulation on illegal halting sites.
Independent Diarmaid Doherty says residents and visitors in Bundoran were shocked last weekend when they discovered an entourage of luxury motorhomes, caravans and vans parked in a number of prominent locations in the town.
Diarmaid Doherty says more powers need to be given to the gardai to act in these situations.
He also says there are ample resources in Finner Camp to lift or tow illegally or dangerously parked vehicles.
