Sligo cllr raises concerns over forest fires

A Sligo councillor wants signs erected that prohibit creating a fire in certain areas.

With the recent spate of wild fires in Donegal, Sligo Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says it’s too dangerous to allow people to have fires in areas that are of high risk of being set a blaze.

He wants signs erected in Slish Wood and surrounding areas.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Councillor Healy says we don’t want a repeat of what happened in 2017.
