The Final Whistle on Thursday night broadcast live from Biddy’s Bar in Manorhamilton, on the eve of Leitrim’s national football league division 4 final against Derry at Croke Park.
This is not the first time that Leitrim have played Derry in Croke Park at the ‘business end’ of the leaguel. Back in 1959, the great Packie McGarty led Leitrim out onto the Croke Park sod for a league semi-final meeting (which Derry won by seven points).
Thursday’s night’s programme, presented by Austin O’Callaghan and John Lynch, relived some of the memories of 59 – as well as looking to this weekend’s final.
