It’s hoped that CCTV cameras overlooking a bottle bank at the Tower Hill estate in Ballymote, Co Sligo, will curb illegal dumping and anti-social behaviour that has been taking place at the location.
The CCTV has been out of operation for some time but is expected to be working again very soon.
Fine Gael Councillor Dara Mulvey raised the issue at this week’s meeting of Sligo County Council.
He said there was also concern about noise created when bins are collected at certain times, with it sometimes happening when a funeral might be taking place in the nearby cemetery.
