There was disappointment for St Claire’s Comprehensive junior girls soccer team from Manorhamilton on Wednesday as they lost 3-1 to Killina Presentation Secondary School from Offaly in the FAI National Junior ‘B’ Cup fiinal, played in Athlone.
The Offaly team led 2-0 at half-time before an excellent goal early in the second-half from St Claire’s captain Muireann Devaney brought the Manorhamilton school back into the game.
However, Sarah Doyle made the game safe for Killina in the 61st minute when scoring the third and decisive goal.
