A meeting of this week’s Manorhamilton Municipal District of Leitrim County Council heard concerns how the failure of other local authorities in matching Leitrim’s commitment in upgrading the N16 is having a negative impact on the local area.
Councillor Sean McDermott claims that motorists are not using the road due to safety concerns and as a result it is having a negative impact on local businesses.
Councillor McDermott has called on neighbouring Councils to prioritise upgrades on the main Sligo to Enniskillen road.
