A consultant in emergency medicine is advising people not to attend the Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital tomorrow unless they have a life threatening condition.
Over 3000 members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation across the north west are to go on strike again tomorrow over pay and conditions.
As a result, there will be a limited service available at the Emergency Departments’ at hospitals tomorrow and those who do attend are warned of significant delays.
Dr Fergal Hickey says people should visit their GP in the first instance if at all possible.
