A dangerous bridge on the Drumkeerin to Dromahair road in north Leitrim which has been historically identified as a potential accident black sport has been allocated significant funding for up grading safety standards.
The “Iron bridge” which is situated at Killavoggy has secured a funding allocation of 200, 000 euro under the specific bridges project with funding for Leitrim road improvements.
Local Fine Gael Councillor, Frank Dolan say’s it’s welcome news for the area after local residents and elected representatives staged a long campaign over a period of 20 years to secure the funding to help improve the safety standard of the Bridge.
