About €60m euro has been allocated today for the repair of regional and local roads in the north west.

Donegal County Council is to get almost €30m, Sligo €20m and just over €10m for Leitrim.

In Donegal, €900,000 is to go toward the Tirconnell Bridge and half a million euro for the Laghey to Pettigo road.

There’s €150,000 for realignment of the R263 and Fintra Bridge.

In Sligo, €8m has been allocated for the Western Distributor Road and €300,000 for the R284 at Gleann.

Sligo County Council Director of Services Tom Kilfeather says this has been a significant year for Sligo when it comes to roads funding.
