Pro-life campaigner says school sex education proposals are an attempt to normalise abortion

A Leitrim pro-life campaigner claims new proposals about sex education in schools is a way of trying to normalise abortion.

The proposals, to be published today, would teach pupils about abortion, pornography, contraception and reproductive health.

The proposals are from the Oireachtas Education in a new report on Relationships and Sexuality Education.

Speaking to me earlier, Bernie O’Hara says the proposals will result in the taking away of children’s innocence.

And she hopes catholic schools will oppose the introduction of the new proposals.
