The lucky Sligo man who scooped an astonishing €24,000 playing North West Hospice Radio Bingo last week has been revealed.

Eddie Burke of Skreen County Sligo, kicked off 2019 with a bang with his incredible jackpot win playing North West Hospice Bingo on Ocean FM. Eddie, who bought his book from Nigel in Collery’s Beltra is now under pressure to provide a mansion, trip to Legoland and Rolls-Royce for his four children.

Eddie, who is a big supporter of the North West Hospice, discovered his amazing success late on Tuesday evening. “I got the call at 9pm, I was a bag of nerves all day. Pacing the floor up and down and telling the kids after school that I might win the full jackpot” Eddie recalled live on air.

Eddie told Ocean FM’s Breakfast club that he planned to treat his wife Edel and kids Glenn, Zoe, Jack and Jessie. Then Eddie would be dreaming of a trip to Liverpool home ground Anfield

North West Hospice must fundraise over €1 million euro a year to provide vital services. And currently the Hospice is facing a significant fundraising challenge as it raises money for a major capital investment in patient facilities as well as funding ongoing running costs. Radio Bingo is an important contributor to their ongoing efforts. “The partnership with Ocean and Radio Bingo is a great support for both our fundraising and raising awareness of our charity in the north west” said Nuala Ginnelly of North West Hospice

It has surpassed previous record winner Sligo native Aolish Henry who scooped just over €22,100 playing North West Hospice Radio Bingo in February last year.
