Donegal TD says comments by Coveney over passports ‘a cheap shot’ at political colleagues

A Donegal TD is hitting out at the Tanaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister over comments he made about politicians helping constituents with passport applications.

Simon Coveney is urging more people to use the online service.

He added that a small number of TDs offices were being set up as passport delivery systems, which was not helpful.

But Donegal Fianna Fail TD Pat the Cope Gallagher claimed many politicians were furious over what he described as ‘cheap shots at colleagues who were doing a good job for their constituents.’

He pointed out that some parts of Donegal were 170 miles from a passport office.
