Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim outdoor projects to benefit from funding



The north west is to get more than three quarters of a million euro for outdoor recreation projects.

Donegal is to get €343,600, Leitrim €496,000 and Sligo €226,000.

In Sligo, four walking trails will get between forty and sixty-five thousand euro; they are at Aughris Head, the Lady Ann Trail at Clogherevagh, Killaspugbrone and Knocknashee.

In Leitrim, the Lough Rinn trails and water amenities and Aghoo Bridge Blueway extension will each get €200,000. Keeldra Lake Amenity Sport and Heritage Trail will get just over €96,000.

Projects to benefit in Donegal are the Great Arch Trail in Fanad, Glenties Alter Trail, and Phase 1 of the Letterkenny to Burtonport greenway.

The county council have receied the funding for the projects.
