Vacant CAMHS posts as young people continue to wait for mental health services

There are 10 vacant fulltime posts in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Sligo/Leitrim.

That’s in an area where more than 200 children and young people are waiting for access to the service.

Figures released by the HSE in answer to a parliamentary question by Dublin Sinn Fein Deputy Louise O Reilly show CAMHS has only 57% of the staff it needs.

Her party colleague, Sligo/Leitrim TD Martin Kenny is now calling for more money to be provided for the CAMHS service so as to reduce waiting lists.
