Leitrim group to hold anti-forestry demonstration outside Dail

The Save Leitrim group is to take its campaign against non-native forestry in the county to the gates of the Dail.

It will hold a demonstration on Wednesday, January 30th at 11am to highlight what it says is the negative impact that the planting of trees, such as Sitka Spruce, is having on the county.

It will be the first time the group has demonstrated outside the Dail.

Fianna Fail Councillor Justin Warnock, a member of the Save Leitrim group, says people outside Leitrim need to know what’s happening in the county.
